MATCH PREVIEW: LEAGUE CAMPAIGN GETS UNDERWAY AT STEBONHEATH

This weekend sees the start of the new JD Welsh Premier League season with our first game coming against Llanelli Town at Stebonheath Park.

Despite exiting Europe at the first hurdle to Shakhtyor Soligorsk, The Nomads have had a successful pre-season campaign picking up victories against Cefn Druids, Rhyl and an Inspire Sport Management XI, while also becoming the first Welsh side to go to Northern Ireland and get a victory against Crusaders.

Llanelli come into the game on the back of a 1-1 draw with Carmarthen Town, a game which Andy Morrison travelled down to Richmond Park to take in ahead of Sunday's league match. Llanelli also recently lost 2-0 to Swansea City U23's but thumped Briton Ferry Llansawel 5-1, so the reds have had a somewhat mixed pre-season campaign. The last time that The Nomads visited Llanelli was in February 2013 to play the previous iteration of the club, picking up a 1-0 victory thanks to a header from Mike Robinson, and earlier in that same season, The Nomads helped themselves to six as Jamie Petrie and Rhys Healey both netted hattricks at Stebonheath Park as The Nomads ran out 6-1 victors.

Ahead of the game, Andy Morrison said "We head into the 2018-19 season with a tough away trip to newly-promoted Llanelli after a very long and intense pre-season, everyone is now ready for the start of the league campaign.

Having watched Llanelli, we know how difficult of a fixture this will be - they are a very fit, technical team, but we head to south Wales in fantastic spirits with everyone desperate to start the new season."

Nomads team news
The Nomads will likely be without Danny Harrison who suffered a calf strain during The Nomads pre-season friendly with the Isle of Man FA team. Also missing will be Jack Kenny who also suffered injury in pre-season and is unlikely to travel with the squad.
