MATCH PREVIEW: NOMADS SET SIGHTS ON TOP SPOT

This Saturday will see Connah's Quay Nomads look to regain top spot in the JD Welsh Premier League as Llanelli Town come to Deeside Stadium.

The team from Stebonheath come to Deeside for the first time since a Welsh Cup tie in 2013 saw The Nomads come out 4-2 winners, and our last encounter earlier this season ended in emphatic style as The Nomads ran out 7-0 victors on the opening weekend as six different scorers got on the scoresheet in early August.

The Nomads come into the game on the back of the midweek success of defeating Bala Town in the Nathaniel MG Cup, booking a Semi Final fixture with Cardiff Met - the fourth successive League Cup Semi Final for the club since Andy Morrison's arrival - and following last weekend's 0-0 draw with Caernarfon Town, sit just one point behind leaders, TNS.

Llanelli head north on the back of three straight defeats to Cardiff Met, Barry and Aberystwyth with their last victory coming against Llandudno in early October.

Ahead of the game, Andy Morrison said "Heading into Saturday's home game against Llanelli, we are in a really strong position in the league and still fighting on four fronts.

I was really pleased with the second half performance on Tuesday night in the cup as we changed the system and managed to create opportunities and thankfully got the goal that we deserved in the final moments.

Again, this weekend, we will have to be right at the top of our game to get the result we are looking for - Llanelli for me are in a false position points-wise as so many games have been close and sendings off have changed the direction on many occasions, so we will be giving Llanelli our full respect.

If our players play to their maximum and maintain the high standards we have shown so far this season, it will take a good team to beat us."

The game kicks off at Deeside Stadium at 2:30pm and as always will be covered by our minute-by-minute Twitter coverage.
