This Friday night sees The Nomads offered an opportunity of redemption against The New Saints as they look to overcome the side who denied them a place in the JD Welsh Cup Final last weekend.
Last Saturday's 3-0 defeat to The Saints and Bangor University Stadium denied The Nomads the opportunity of playing in their first Welsh Cup Final since 1998, however Friday's game offers The Nomads the opportunity to secure UEFA Europa League football for the second consecutive season. With Bala Town winning the other semi final last weekend, third place has now been opened up as an automatic Europa League qualification place, and with The Nomads currently eight points clear of fourth placed Bangor City, The Nomads only need one more point from their remaining three games to secure their second ever European campaign.
The run-in will no doubt be tight as The Nomdas have to face The New Saints on Friday before hosting second placed Bala Town on the penultimate weekend of the season, before culminating with a fixture away at Cardiff Met. Bangor meanwhile, have to face Bala Town this weekend before visiting Cardiff Met before finishing the season at Carmarthen Town.
The Nomads' Phase One visit to Park Hall saw the Champions inflict The Nomads' first defeat of the season upon them with a 3-0 victory thanks to goals from Wes Fletcher, Chris Seargeant and Jon Routledge. The game marked the first game that The Nomads had lost in over three and a half months since losing to FK Vojvodina in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League.
Congratulations this week also goes out to Declan Poole who picked up the Dafabet Welsh Premier League Goal of the Month award for his strike against TNS at Deeside in late March. You can check out Declan's goal ahead of the game below.
