JD Welsh Cup
25.02.17 | 5:15pm

This Saturday will see The Nomads head to Bastion Gardens to take on Prestatyn Town in the live televised JD Welsh Cup Quarter Final.

The Nomads head to Prestatyn for the first time since a 3-0 victory in the same competition last season where a Nick Rushton strike and a Callum Morris double saw The Nomads progress to the next round.  It is a game that Andy Morrison will be looking to use as a platform to bounce back from two disapointing league results against Carmarthen Town and Bangor City, only the second time that The Nomads have lost consecutive domestic games under Morrison's reign.

Prestatyn will be coming into the game in fantastic spirits having not lost a game all season, picking up 21 victories from 23 games in the Huws Gray Alliance, scoring 97 times in the process so far, with their last defeat coming at the hands of Bangor City in the Nathaniel MG Cup, losing out 3-1 on penalties having drawn 4-4 after extra time in the first round of the competition.

The Nomads will come into the game without club captain George Horan following his red card against Bangor City.  Ahead of the game, Andy Morrison said; "We head to Prestatyn this Saturday ater a weekend off from the league due to TNS plaing in the Irn Bru Cup.  My players would always prefer a game but the break has given us the opportunity to work on certain aspects of our game that we needed to sharpen up.

Everyone connected with the Club cannot wait for Saturday's game - with the Sgorio cameras present against a very good Prestatyn team it has the making of a great Welsh Cup tie."

Morrison concluded; "Prestatyn have been in great form this season, hammering Aberystwyth in the previous round and can wrap their own league up in the coming week.  We met last season where a 3-0 win was anything but comfortable - they had won 10 games on the bounce going into the game and very small margins were the difference on the day and I can see this game being very similar where every player will have to be right on top of their game to get the right result."

The game kicks off at Bastion Gardens at 5:15pm with live coverage on S4C getting underway at 5:00pm.
