The New Saints FC
Nathaniel MG Cup

Monday night football sees The Nomads host current Nathaniel MG Cup holders, The New Saints with a place in the Final at stake.
The match marks the second consecutive season that the two sides have faced off at Deeside Stadium in the Semi Final, but is coincidentally the third game. Last season's Semi Final was abandoned with little over 15 minutes of regular time left to play with the scores at 2-2 before freak fog descended onto the pitch leaving the referee no option but to call of the game. The rearranged fixture was a similarly tight affair with a deflected goal from Scott Quigley enough to edge The Saints through to the final on the night, and they went on to defeat Barry Town United 4-0 in the final to pick up the Cup.
The Nomads will be looking to make their place in the final for the first time since 1996 - a game in which a solitary strike from Peter Hughes was enough to give The Nomads the silverware against Ebbw Vale. Since then, The Nomads have reached the Semi Finals on three occassions, losing out to Rhyl, Denbigh Town and last season to The New Saints.
There is very little to split the two sides in the JD Welsh Premier League also, with just two points separating the sides in the table and a 2-2 draw here at Deeside earlier in the season, in a game which many Nomads fans and officials felt that the home side should have won.
The result will be determined tonight, with Cardiff Met awaiting in the final, having defeated Newtown in the other Semi Final last week, so whether it means 90 minutes, extra time or penalties, the game will be decided tonight... unless the fog returns of course!
