The Nomads can today confirm our first set of pre-season friendlies in preparation for the 2017/18 Welsh Premier League and UEFA Europa League campaign.
The first of The Nomads' games will see a trip to Northern Ireland to take on fellow UEFA Europa League qualifiers, Ballymena United. The Sky Blues recently qualified by winning the Northern Irish League Play Offs, defeating Glenavon 2-1 in the all-important game. It will mark the second successive season that The Nomads will visit Northern Ireland ahead of their UEFA Europa League campaign, as last June saw The Nomads visit Cliftonville. The game will take place at Seaview, the Belfast-based home of Crusaders FC on Saturday, 17th June with a 2:00pm kick off time. Just one day later, delegates from both sides will then head to Switzerland to find out who their opponents will be in the First and potentially, Second Qualifying Rounds of the UEFA Europa League.
The end of July will then see The Nomads look to prepare for the start of the domestic campaign with three more local fixtures taking place against Airbus UK, Colwyn Bay and Hyde United. The Nomads will make the short trip to the recently relegated Wingmakers on Saturday, 22nd July for a 2:30pm kick off. The Nomads will then visit Colwyn Bay on Tuesday, 25th July and it will mark the first time the two sides have met since pre-season in 2011. The result that day was a 3-3 draw with a young Rhys Healey getting on the scoresheet for The Nomads. Later that week, The Nomads will head to Northern Premier League team, Hyde United. It will be the first time that the two clubs have met and the game will take place at Hyde's Ewen Fields on Saturday 29th July.
The Nomads hope to have a number of additional pre-season friendlies lined up in the coming weeks, and more details of these fixtures will be announced on our website when they are confirmed.
