Nomads to face Dumbarton in Irn Bru Cup

Date Published: Thursday, 17th August, 2017 - 1:31pm

The draw for the SPFL Irn Bru Cup Second Round took place earlier today with The Nomads being drawn against Dumbarton.

Founded in 1872, Dumbarton currently play in the Scottish Championship and finished eighth last season. Managed by Stephen Aitken, a former Stranraer, Greenock Morton and Stenhousemuir player, the side play at The YOUR Radio 103FM Stadium, known for it's location in the shadow of Dumbarton Rock.

The match will take place on the weekend on 2nd/3rd September and will be confirmed once televised games are confirmed.

Following the draw, Andy Morrison said "Obviously we would have liked a home game and we know very little about Dumbarton at this moment in time other than that they are a Scottish Championship side. We will gather information on them, watch them and be thoroughly prepared for the game when it comes around."
