Connah's Quay Nomads are pleased to confirm that First Team Assistant Manager, Jay Catton has secured a place on the 2018 UEFA Pro License course run by the FAW and Welsh Football Trust.
Catton follows in the footsteps of First Team Manager, Andy Morrison who took part in the 2017 course, along with First Team Coach, Neil Gibson.
Previously a player with The Nomads, Catton took on a coaching role after four knee operations and has since completed the UEFA A licence and also has a UEFA B license in coaching goalkeepers along with a BA (Hons) degree in Sports Coaching and Exercise Sciences.
Catton's place on the course will see The Nomads' have one of the most well-trained coaching teams in Welsh football, with no other club in Welsh domestic football, as well as Conference side Wrexham, boasting three UEFA Pro Licensed coaches. Football League Two side Newport County will match up with The Nomads as they will also be gaining their third UEFA Pro coach on this year's intake, with only Swansea City and Cardiff City bettering both.
A delighted Catton took to Twitter shortly after he received confirmation to express his happiness.
