Following today's Second Round draw for the Irn Bru Cup, Connah's Quay Nomads will face Falkirk at the Falkirk Stadium.
The Scottish Championship side defeated Rangers U21 on Tuesday night to progress to the second round thanks to a 2-1 victory.
The draw was hosted on the SPFL Facebook page at 1pm on Thursday afternoon, and for the first time featured two sides from the English National League alongside the previous representation from the Welsh Premier League, NIFL Premiership and League of Ireland Premier division.
Last season's Irn Bru Cup saw The Nomads fall at the first hurdle to a strong Dumbarton side who went on to reach the final where they lost out to eventual winners Inverness Caledonian Thistle. The second round game last season saw The Nomads take an early lead through a Callum Morris penalty, but it was a case of double late heartbreak for The Nomads as Dumbarton equalised in the 81st minute before going on to win the game with almost the last kick of the game in the 119th minute of extra time.
Last year's winners, Inverness Caledonian Thistle have been knocked out already, following a 2-1 defeat at home to Dunfermline Athletic on Tuesday night.
Andy Morrison will be looking to progress further this season and following the draw spoke to Connah's Quay Nomads' website;
"Again, a tough away draw against a Scottish Championship team - we can't wait for the opportunity to test ourselves."
The game will be played on the weekend of 8/9 September. Confirmation will be available online in the coming days.
