Following Connah's Quay Nomads' 1-0 victory over The New Saints, Andy Morrison spoke to Nik Mesney as his side returned to the top of the league table.
Dominating the game
"You never know what you're going to expect from the players this early in the season - the first game [against Llanelli] was about flair and creativityand today was about, to be fair, dominating the game in the first half, and then got our noses in front and then it's just natural to go back and try and defend that, and we defended admirably..."
The qualities of us as a defensive unit
"For long periods, we were just defending deep, which we're very very good at - like I say, nobody will break us down and for 90 minutes for John Danby not to have a save to make, I think that speaks testament about the qualities of us as a defensive unit..."
Morrison also looked forward to next week against Aberystwyth having watched them earlier in the weekend;
It will be a game against a very very damaged animal
"What we've got to do now is regroup and freshen things up and have a really bright week and go into, which will be a game against a very, very damaged animal - I went to the game on Friday night and watched the game and Aber will be a lot better than what they were on that night, so we've got to prepare for that and make sure that the intensity, the desire, the aggression, the anger, everything is ready for Friday night that when the whistle goes, we explode onto the pitch."
