IAN KEARNEY

Kearney joined The Nomads from nearby rivals Airbus UK in June 2016. He had been with The Wingmakers since 2012, captaining the side to consecutive Europa League qualifications, amassing 73 Welsh Premier League appearances and 13 goals in his time at The Airfield.

Prior to his arrival at Airbus, Kearney played at Southport, Radcliffe Borough, Ashton United and Northwich Victoria.

Kearney made his competitive debut for The Nomads in the Club's first ever UEFA Europa League match against Norwegian side Stabæk Fotball in June 2016. Kearney only went on to make a further three starts for The Nomads in the Welsh Premier League before suffering cruciate knee ligament damage in an away fixture against Cardiff Met.

The injury kept Kearney out for the remainder of the 2016/17 season, and he returned as a substitute against Cardiff Met in September this year. Unfortunately, Kearney only made a few more appearances before suffering a prolapsed disc in his back which will ultimately keep him out of action for a prolonged period of time.

Kearney made a total of just 14 starts and two substitute appearances in all competitions for The Nomads.
