CRAIG

JONES

“Tigger” was a hugely popular Liverpudlian midfielder who played for Penlake, Knowsley and Congleton Town before joining Connah’s Quay Nomads in August 2007.

A central midfield dynamo that never stopped running and chipped in with the occassional goal.

He made his Nomads debut in August 2007 as a substitute in a 2-1 victory over Llangefni Town, before making his first start for the club the week later in a 2-0 victory over Neath Athletic at Deeside Stadium.

Whilst Craig was never known for his goalscoring, his first goal in Nomads colours was a crucial one as he scored a late winner in a seven goal thriller as The Nomads edged out Caersws 4-3 at The Recreation Ground in later October 2007.

Craig captained the club to back-to-back Cymru Alliance Championships in the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons, leading the club back into the top flight of Welsh footall.

“Tigger” left the club in August 2014 to join Cefn Druids following seven years with The Nomads. He made 228 starts for The Nomads in all competitions with over 130 Welsh Premier League appearances to his name, finding the net on 15 occasions. His final game for the club came against Carmarthen Town in August 2014.
