Saturday afternoon saw The Nomads' lose out 1-0 to TNS amid a dubious penalty and a late equaliser which was ruled out.
• The Nomads faced TNS in a huge clash in the JD Cymru Premier League
• TNS took the lead through a Declan McManus penalty in the 59th minute
• There was a red card for both sides as George Horan and Keston Davies were involved in a tussle
• Declan Poole looked to have scored a last minute equaliser for The Nomads but it was disallowed
The Nomads hosted TNS at Deeside Stadium in the early kick off in the JD Welsh Cymru Premier League following an unlucky draw last Saturday away to Haverfordwest.
This game would have been on to help properly kick-start The Nomads' season following a series of draws and losses and what better game to go for than against title rivals TNS.
The game started with it being end to end in the first 15 minutes as both sides had corners but headers from Horan and Insall were no trouble for TNS keeper Paul Harrison.
TNS then started to control possession as they looked to extend their lead at the top of the table but with free kicks and crosses from Ryan Brobbel were safely collected by Nomads keeper Oliver Byrne.
Keston Davies then received a yellow card for a nasty tackle on Nomads midfielder Callum Morris and this was shortly followed up by a yellow card to The Nomads as Horan brought down Redmond to halt TNS' counter attack.
The end to end stuff then sprung into action even more with a series of long balls and long throw ins from Kris Owens were causing trouble for TNS and Brobbel and Redmond for TNS seen their efforts narrowly whistle past Oliver Byrnes post to keep the clean sheet safe for both as the game reached half time at 0-0.
In the 47th minute, TNS got off to a quick start as Ben Clark was played through with only John Disney left to get past but Disney stayed strong and made the last ditch tackle to keep the game goalless.
TNS then looked to counter-attack again straight away in the 49th minute but John Disney gave away a foul which made him pick up a yellow card given by referee Lee Evans.
In the 59th minute, Simon Evans pointed to the spot after Jamie Mullan brought down Jordan Williams inside the area. Declan McManus stepped up and slotted his penalty into the roof of the net to give TNS a 1-0 lead.
The Nomads then looked to get back in it straight away with a flurry of corners that one of which fell to Danny Holmes and he was urged to shoot by many fans but his effort sailed wide.
The Nomads then had more dangerous free kicks as the quest for the equaliser continued but headers from Aeron Edwards and Byron Harrison flew over the TNS goal.
Craig Harrison then made two substitutes in quick succession as Byron Harrison and Jamie Insall were replaced by Craig Curran and Neal Eardley, who The Nomads wished a warm welcome to as this was his debut after signing on Friday afternoon.
TNS then picked up two yellow cards in a short time as Declan McManus and Cieslewicz drew fouls to stop The Nomads' counter attacks. This was ensured to be a fantastic ending with much tension and even more end-to-end action
TNS continued to stop The Nomads in their tracks as Robles straight away picked up a yellow card after replacing Jordan Williams in the 84th minute.
In the 88th minute the real drama started as off the ball following a previous attack, George Horan and Keston Davies were both involved in a heated confrontation which referee Lee Evans deemed violent conduct and so both players received a red card for their troubles.
With the extra 6 minutes added on by fourth official Thomas Owen, The Nomads kept pushing and kept winning free kicks but TNS got everyone behind the ball and looked to keep the 1-0 lead in full flow.
The most controversial moment of the match came in the 96th minute as a cross was played into the box which fell to Declan Poole who fired in. However, a conversation between the referee and the linesman led to the goal being disallowed as the goalkeeper's view was deemed to be impeded.
So the game reached full time and it was heartbreak for The Nomads as late drama was not on their side but we hope The Nomads will come back stronger in their next game against Newtown AFC at 19:45pm on Tuesday 12th October.
