The Nomads kept themselves fresh last night with an away draw at Evo-Stik Northern team, Burscough FC.
In a friendly which was put in place to blow away some of the cobwebs from the last two weeks without a fixture, The Nomads played Burscough, in a tight affair.
The match ended with a 1-1 draw with a Nomads' team missing Mike Robinson, Danny Dobbins and Chris Rowntree, with Rob Jones only able to manage 15 mins in the second half due to injury.
Jamie Petrie equalised for The Nomads five minutes from full time after the hosts had gone in front after 55 mins. Burcough's goal was a little fortunate as the ball seemed to had gone out for throw in, but the goal stood.
There were a few good chances for both teams in the first half with Burscough finding Nomads' keeper John Rushton in good form. The Nomads had a few better chances in the second half with Mike Hayes on the end of a few decent opportunities, but was unable to make them count.
All in all a very good workout for The Nomads in preparation for the first game in the second phase of the Welsh Premier League this Saturday away at Llanelli.
We would like to thank Burscough for hosting this friendly as it was much appreciated to keep up The Nomads fitness and match sharpness.
