The Nomads went into yesterday's game without a competitive game in three weeks, so a good start was very important.
After a quiet opening five minutes, The Nomads started to control the play and forced a number of corners and a few shots from Rob Jones, but it was Nomads' 'keeper John Rushton who made two outstanding saves in the first 20 minutes.
The Nomads then controlled midfield play and again it was the set plays that were causing the home team problems, and after two near misses, Mike Robinson eventually scored on the 29th minute with a great bullet header that went in off the bar.
The half time whistle went and on reflection it could of easily been 2-1.
The second half began with Llanelli trying to get back into the game but it was The Nomads who had the two best efforts, with Mike Hayes hitting post and Ricky Evans missing by a few inches with a free kick .
Llanelli were now hitting long balls hoping to get a few knock downs but our defence easily cleared. The Nomads could have wrapped things up but an obvious penalty claim was dismissed by the referee as Jamie Petrie was hacked down and every one was seemingly waiting for official to point to spot, but it never came and The Nomads hung on to gain a crucial three points in our opening game of the second phase of the season.
