Yorkshire trip ends with eight goal thriller

The Nomads' weekend long trip to Yorkshire culminated in a 5-3 victory away at Goole AFC yesterday.

The team went in 1-0 down at half time following a Chris Ovington goal for the home side, however the action picked up in the second half, as Simon Everall scored his second goal of pre-season on 51 mins before Goole managed to put through their own net 7 minutes later.

Simon Everall double his tally and The Nomads lead on 62 minuts before Goole's Nicky Guest clawed back The Nomads' advantage only two minutes later.

Nine minutes later and Mike Hayes added to his impressive pre-season figures with another strike, before Nicky Guest scored his second of the game to make things a bit closer that The Nomads would have liked for the final five minutes of the match.

In the final minutes, Mike Hayes added his second and The Nomads' fifth of the afternoon to end the game 5-3.

Overall a great trip with some great hospitality from both Goole and Pontefract Collieries, which saw The Nomads score eight goals in two games, four of which came from Mike Hayes.
