Nomads ruffle Eagles' feathers

CONNAH'S Quay defied the odds to frustrate big-spending Neath. They took an unexpected point away from The Gnoll and it could have been even worse for the Eagles, but for two great saves from keeper Anthony Williams.

Nomads' boss Mark McGregor included new signings Andy Olsen and Tom Baker in his line-up, with the returning Allan Glover on the bench, and were outplayed in the first-half.

Andy Dyer's side took the lead in the 38th minute when two of his summer captures combined, Craig Steins crossing for ex-Wales international Chris Llewellyn to send a bullet header gave keeper Terry McCormick.

But the game changed after the break with the men from Deeside taking and they were rewarded when Chris Herbert headed the equaliser from close range.
