CONNAH'S Quay are virtually assured a place in the last eight after a comfortable victory over Caersws on Deeside.
After enjoying the bulk of possession, Nomads' goals from Sam McNutt, Mike Hayes and Jamie Petrie secured the points, but the hosts allowed the Bluebirds back into the game for a brief spell.
McNutt drove past keeper Dave Jones from a tight angle on the hour and appeared to be in control once Hayes completed a flowing move involving Danny Forde and Alan Hooley five minutes later.
Petrie and Hooley went close to extending the lead, but Caersws fired a warning when ex-Nomad Chris Melia struck the crossbar with a 25-yarder.
Soon after half-time the visitors struck back when Geraint Lewis converted a penalty following a melee in the box.
Jones made a string of saves, Ben Alston missed a free header at the far post from a corner and Hayes was denied by the keeper's legs before Petrie met a left-wing cross from McNutt to send his looping header over the stranded keeper.
