Cudworth penalty save denies Nomads

WELSHPOOL keeper Jack Cudworth made a match-winning penalty save to deny dominant Gap Connah's Quay a third consecutive win.

The game ended scoreless after the former Preston North End youth dived to keep out Sam McNutt's well-struck spot kick on the half-hour.

But Cudworth luck had a stroke of luck when substitute Michael Hayes tried a lob 20 minutes from time and the ball dropped onto the top of the bar.

Returning from injury, Stuart Scheuber came off the bench late-on, but the Nomads could not make the breakthrough against a stubborn Welshpool defence.
