A goalless stalemate was not the result either side needed in their quest for the Super 12.
Neither side ever looked capable of breaking the deadlock with a 25-yarder from Danny Thomas midway through the first half the only realistic threat from the Old Gold.
Hicks put the rebound wide to sum-up Town's frustration: "We never really looked like scoring but having said that we never looked like conceding either," said visiting player-boss Deryn Brace.
"I don’t think Neil Thomas had a save to make all game. There were no real chances at either end."
Michael Hayes had the best opportunity for Nomads, but was well denied by keeper Thomas.
