Prestatyn maintained their unbeaten home record but were forced to share the spoils with their 10-man visitors.
Most in the ground were astouned at the 72nd-minute dismissal of Phil Doran, who had already been yellow-carded, apparently for taking a free-kick too quickly.
But, undeterred, the Nomads kept hunting an equaliser and were rewarded four minutes from time when Tommy Mutton set-up fellow striker Aden Shannon, who finished well from 10 yards.
Earlier, visiting keeper Chris Maxwell had done well to keep the Seasiders at bay with some superb saves.
Although counterpart Jon Dunt had made an early block from Shannon, the hosts made most of the running and missed a golden chance when Jon Fisher-Cooke headed wide from an Ian Griffiths cross.
Michael Parker headed a Russ Jones cross in the wrong direction from six yards and the ball ran to Ross Hannen, whose left foot piledriver was brilliantly beaten away by Maxwell and Fisher-Cooke blazed the rebound high and wide.
Peter and Phil Doran both went close the visitors but Prestatyn took the lead 11 minutes after the break. A Griffiths free-kick was blocked by Maxwell but Fisher-Cooke atoned for his earlier misses by converting the rebound.
Alex Williams and sub Steve Bowes had chances to increase the lead, but the hosts paid the price when Shannon snatched his late goal.
