Six-shooters hammer The Nomads

Chris Sharp led the way with a hat-trick as six-shooters City ripped Nomads apart on a frosty Farrar Road surface.

The in-form marksman got the final touch on the line on nine minutes after Quay defender Teddy Whelan had sent a looping header towards his own goal under pressure from Les Davies.

Liam Loughlin had an equalised ruled-out for offside from Phil Doran's cross, but the Citizens settled the contest with a three goal salvo inside four minutes just before half-time as the visitors' defence fell apart.

Nomads failed to clear their lines and, when keeper Craig Vernon could only parry a Sion Edwards drive, Sharp was on hand for his second.

Davies grabbed the third with a fierce drive from the left side of the box following an Edwards corner and, within a minute, Sharp completed his threesome after good control by Edwards from Chris Seargeant's cross.

It got even worse for the visitors within three minutes of the restart, Peter Hoy heading-in a corner at the near post.

Sub Paul McManus marked his debut by hitting an upright, but soon added the sixth after breaking clear of the visitors' defence to net past Vernon from 18 yards.
