Andy Evans fired a hat-trick as Aberystwyth scored six goals for the second game running to leave Nomads still not out of danger.
The Seasiders took an 11th-minute lead when the Quay defence failed to deal with an Evans header and the ball fell for Luke Sherbon to score.
But Nomads levelled five minutes later when goalkeeper Dave Jones fouled and Chris Herbert stroked home the spot kick.
Evans restored the lead with a header from a 24th-minute corner but only a good block by the keeper prevented Nomads' Sam McNutt from equalising soon after the break.
The sky then fell in on the visitors with Geraint Passmore's 57th-minute header followed 11 minutes later by Evans's second.
Sub Robert Evans and Geoff Kellaway combined to set up Stuart Roberts for the fifth and such was the home side's dominance that manager Brian Coyne substituted keeper Jones to give a run-out to youngster Llewellyn Hughes, before Evans duly completed his hat-trick from a last-minute Robert Evans cross.
