CONNAH'S Quay took until November to get off the mark last season, but there were no such problems this time around as they made their debut at Flint's Cae-y-Castell.
Despite fielding several new faces, it was two Nomads' favourites - Marc Limbert and Tommy Mutton - who scored the goals which sank Newtown, but Quay had to come from behind.
Newtown took a 19th minute lead from a disputed penalty, awarded for a foul by Tommy Harrison on Darren Ryan. Danny Barton converted, but the hosts levelled early in the second-half. A superb cross from Anthony Warriner found Limbert who sent a powerful header past Robins' keeper Dave Jones.
Stand-in keeper Demitri Brinias had plenty to do before Nomads grabbed a late winner. Adam Dickinson provided the pass for Mutton to send a 16-yard drive past Jones and provided a perfect opening day for manager Nev Powell.
