Nomads edge a thriller

A 79th minute penalty from skipper Marc Limbert maintained Nomads' superb start to the season, as they edged a seven-goal thriller with struggling Caersws.

Adam Dickinson was fouled by veteran defender Colin Reynolds and Limbert made no mistake, driving the spot kick into Andy Mulliners' right-hand corner.

The Bluebirds had started brightly enough taking a ninth-minute lead when keeper Paul Smith's clearance rebounded off a defender for Mark Griffiths to fire into an empty net.

Adam Dickinson put Nomads level five minutes before the break with his fifth goal of the season and Craig Hutchinson finished off a good move two minutes after the resumption to put the hosts ahead.

Caersws battled back and a Neil Mitchell lob brought them level, but a stunning 25-yard drive from Craig Garside restored Quay's lead.

When a right-wing cross from Chris Venables was deflected into his own net by Chris Williams, the Bluebirds had hopes of a point, but Limbert's penalty was enough to send Nomads into fourth place in the table.
