CONNAH'S Quay stand at the top of the Welsh Premier, for a few hours at least, after a hard-fought victory over Porthmadog.
Adam Dickinson's somewhat fortunate 68th minute goal was all that separated the sides. Returning Nomads' skipper Marc Limbert mis-hit his free-kick, which rolled to Dickinson who fired past Port keeper Richard Harvey from the edge of the box.
In a game of few clear-cut chances, Quay edged the possession and Harvey did well to punch out Tommy Mutton's early cross.
The visiting keeper also produced a fine save to hold a Chris Williams header from another Limbert set-piece. Dickinson's dipping shot just after the break just went over the bar with Les Davies shooting wide for Port from a Clayton Blackmore pass.
Gareth Caughter and Davies also went close before Dickinson's goal, but the closest Port came to finding an equaliser was a Ryan Davies header from Mike Foster's free kick.
