CONNAH'S Quay kept up with the pacesetters by battling to a draw at Stebonheath Park.
Skipper Marc Limbert was the Nomads' scorer, striking a sweet shot from just inside the box into Duncan Roberts' far corner before lifting his shirt to reveal the message "Rhyl Reject"!
But the visitors' hero was keeper Paul Smith, who pulled off some superb saves as Llanelli wasted a host of chances. The Reds should have been several goals to the good by half-time, with Jacob Mingorance having two efforts scrambled off the line and Nick Harrhy shooting wide of a gaping goalmouth.
Ironically, it was Nomads' defender Danny Jellicoe who put the hosts in front. On for just two minutes as a sub for the injured Gary Lovell, Jellicoe diverted a Harrhy cross into his own net with a diving header on the half hour.
Quay boss Nev Powell was able to reorganise at half-time and it paid quick dividends for Limbert's clinical finish. The Reds went down to 10-men when Antonio Corbisiero was dismissed for a clumsy challenge on Craig Garside, but Llanelli should have claimed the points when Harrhy somehow was unable to beat keeper Smith from point blank range.
