A SECOND-minute goal from striker Paul Roberts handed Bangor three much-needed points and left Nomads still searching for their first win.
Quay skipper Danny Jellicoe dwelt on the ball and allowed Roberts to steal in to beat keeper Paul Smith from just inside the box.
Alex Hay nearly added to the lead with a header as City piled on the pressure and it was mid-way through the half before Nomads got an effort on target from Stuart Rain.
Roberts' turn and shot before the break missed the target, but Carl Lamb spurned the best chance to settle the contest when put in by Roberts.
The home side began to create more chances in the closing quarter and twice hit the woodwork against a reeling City defence.
But Peter Davenport's men held out for a win that sent them into mid-table.
