Sad Nomads still can't score

NEVILLE Powell introduced ex-Coventry City striker Gary O'Toole, but the struggling Nomads failed to score for the fifth game in a row.

An early goal from Rhodri Jones handed the spoils to Carmarthen, leaving the Deeside men anchored to the foot of the table.

Unmarked at the far post, Jones headed in from a Gary Lloyd corner with keeper Paul Smith in no man's land.

Some wayward finishing from Nomads and stubborn defending from the visitors denied the home side, with Carmarthen close to adding a second when Danny Thomas pulled his shot wide.

Town keeper Andrew Delve saved superbly to prevent O'Toole from scoring on his debut and, despite bringing on Stuart Rain as a second-half sub, Nomads failed to break their duck as the veteran marksman skied over the top from eight yards out.

In the dying moments Gary Lloyd could have added to Nomads' woes, but fluffed a good chance.
