Unconvincing Rhyl go second

AN improved second half performance gave Rhyl a festive double over the Nomads to fire the Belle Vue outfit into second place.

But John Hulse's side were far from convincing and allowed the visitors to snatch an early lead.

Ryan Crawford scored after just four minutes with a shot from the edge of the six-yard box, but Quay failed to capitalise further and the Lillies went on to dominated the second half.

A Lee Hunt header just wiped out the long-held lead with Tommy Mutton on hand to slot home a 76th-minute winner following a cross from impressive substitute Mark Connolly.
