CONNAH'S Quay remained rooted close to the danger zone after Caersws went away with all three points on a cold and miserable night at the Deeside Stadium.
A Neil Mitchell double put the Bluebirds in control and the win was sealed five minutes from time when Nomads' skipper Danny Jellicoe was sent off for a foil on Ross Stephens, who converted the resulting penalty.
It could have been different if a shot from a Stuart Cook corner had not been cleared off the line as early as the fourth minute, but Caersws went ahead in the 19th minute when Chris Venables threaded a through ball into the path of Mitchell who finished clinically behind keeper Paul Smith from 15 yards.
The impressive Gary O'Toole saw his 25-yard shot saved low by Caersws keeper Andy Mulliner who also denied Tommy Mutton but O'Toole rifled a superb shot from 25 yards into the top right corner to put the home side level.
Mark Williams should have put the Bluebirds into the lead after the break with Ben Heath's 30-yard shot for the Nomads testing Mulliner.
But, with 15 minutes to go, a free kick from Colin Reynolds was flicked on by Williams into the path of Mitchell, who deservedly restored the Caersws lead.
