Nomads finish on a high

NOMADS ended a disappointing season on a high by ending high-flying Llanelli's 10-match unbeaten run.

With the pressure of avoiding relegation finally off their shoulders, the Deesiders produced their best performance of the season.

Phil Molyneux's 36th-minute strike was enough to settle an entertaining contest and the surprise was that it was the only goal of an action-packed first half.

Tommy Mutton blazed wide for Quay with Chris Williams also cracking a shot against the post before Molyneux curled in his goal after a surging run.

The second period continued to set a hectic pace with Molyneux having a decent penalty appeal turned down, while at the other end the Reds twice hit the woodwork before Nomads keeper Paul Smith brilliantly denied Jacob Mingorance.
