NOMADS boss Nev Powell had called for his side to distance themselves from dropping into the relegation dogfight. But it was the struggling Steelmen who showed their metal with two late goals to clinch the points.
Quay also had two players ferried to hospital on a disastrous afternoon, with Paul Mazzarella breaking an ankle after 23 minutes and substitute Stuart Terry disclocating a shoulder late on.
Much of the football was totally forgettable as both sides struggled to combat a bouncing ball in windy conditions, although most of the limited goalmouth action involved the Nomads, with Tommy Mutton and Stuart Rain both shooting wide.
Gareth Phillips with a 16-yarder and Lee John came closest for Talbot in the first-half.
Two goals in three minutes settled the game, with an 82nd minute goal from Richard Ryan, playing his first game since re-signing for Port.
Three minutes later Ryan provided with a left wing cross and Phillips hit the killer goal from eight yards.
