TWO soft first half goals put Newtown on the road to victory on Deeside.
In a lack-lustre game, the Robins profited from the brace of early blunders as Quay got off to the worst possible start after just five minutes as Martin Giles' floated free kick sailed over Craig Bryan.
It came as no surprise when the visitors made it 2-0, as Michael Brown took advantage of a mix-up between George Horan and Bryan in the 27th minute.
Nomads thought they had a way back into the game eight minutes after the restart, but Mutton was denied what looked like a clear-cut penalty.
But the game was put beyond doubt when Brown cut inside and curled a fine shot into the top corner to make it 3-0 in the 65th minute.
And it could have been four but Bryan stopped Danny Barton's header on the line.
