JEFF Aspell gave Carmarthen the lead, somewhat against the run of play, but Connah's Quay battled back to lead and returned home to Deeside with a deserved point.
George Horan almost gave Nomads a second minute lead when heading over from close range and Stuart Rain forced home keeper Tony Pennock to make a smart save.
But Town took the lead against the run of play when former Llanelli striker Aspell scored with a diving header that went in via both posts.
Gary Lloyd had a shot tipped over by Nomads' keeper Bryan, but the visitors were level when skipper Gareth Owen headed past Pennock following good work by Tommy Mutton.
The Nomads' marksman then got in on the act himself to outwit the Carmarthen defence and put his side into a lead which lasted barely a minute.
Aspell grabbed his second with a header from Lloyd's corner to save the home team's blushes.
