CAERSWS were denied a point when a goal deep in injury time by veteran substitute Stuart Rain gave the Nomads their first home win of the season.
Connah's Quay took the lead as early as the second minute when a long ball found top scorer Tommy Mutton, who was allowed to run on and beat keeper Andy Mulliner from way out on the left.
Caersws should have equalised in the 19th minute when midfielder Graham Jones shot wide at the back post from 10 yards when well placed. Mulliner was forced to make a good save from a Mutton effort on 25 minutes with a 38th minute free kick wide by the Bluebird's Sean Jehu causing panic in the home defence.
The visitors exerted most of the second half pressure and eventually got a deserved equaliser their play deserved when Jehu's free kick was flicked on by Geraint Lewis to Graham Evans, who netted at the back post with a header.
With the game seemingly set for a draw and into injury time, Gareth Owen floated a free kick from wide on the left which eventually fell to Stuart Rain, who netted to the delight of the home supporters.
