AN inspired substitution by manager Nev Powell brought Connah's Quay a deserved equaliser at Victoria Road.
Veteran Stuart Rain came off the bench on 73 minutes and his near post header seven minutes later gave Nomads a share of the spoils.
The Deesiders had taken the lead when Craig Bryan's long clearance found Tommy Mutton who headed past home stopper Thomas.
But the Steelmen fought back and Gareth Phillips put in Nicky Jones who beat Bryan with an eight-yarder.
When Tony Wallis was felled by Chris Williams, Talbot went ahead with Carl Shaw converting the spot kick.
But Rain's late show denied them a second home win of the campaign.
