A LATE goal from Darren Williams gave Nomads a slender victory against 10-man Lido.
Williams converted a cross from Gareth Owen and fired a low shot past home keeper Brian Thomas.
Tommy Mutton had earlier missed a penalty for Connah's Quay on 70 minutes, his shot narrowly missing the target.
Lido were on the back foot as early as the 21st minute when Liam McCreesh was dismissed for kicking out at Nomads' skipper Owen. The visitors used their numerical advantage to pressure the home defence and Williams was unlucky with a good effort from the edge of the box that hit the outside of a post.
The home side's best chance fell to Sacha Walters on the hour but his shot from a Karl Reynolds pass was tipped round the post by debutante keeper Craig Bryan.
