BANGOR went top of the Welsh Premier league overnight after beating Connah's Quay Nomads in a seven-goal thriller on Deeside.
Nomads made a bright start and took the lead when Darren Williams headed past Paul Whitfield in the Citizens' goal.
But they failed to take two or three good chances before Bangor's Paul Roberts was upended in the box after 22 minutes and the striker coolly converted the spot kick.
An individual effort from Roberts on 35 minutes put Bangor ahead and they looked to have sealed the points when a cross from the right was sliced into his own net by Nomads' defender George Horan.
But Nomads got back on terms when substitute striker Stuart Rain scored with a diving header and Tommy Mutton levelled a few minutes later.
The point was snatched from their grasp in the the dying seconds by veteran Frank Mottram who drove the ball home to give Bangor victory.
