Thank You, Jordan Parry

Connah’s Quay Nomads can confirm that Jordan Parry has decided to bring an end to his 10-year tenure at the club.

During his decade at the Nomads, Parry has played a pivotal role in shaping the development pathway at the club and allowing boys and girls at our academy to find their love for the game.

In addition, Parry also took over our female section in 2021 and guided our senior women’s team to lift multiple silverware, while he also inspired female footballers across North Wales, including those in our Girls Player Development Centre (PDC).

Perhaps Parry’s crowning moments at the club were lifting back-to-back Genero Adran North titles and three NEWFA Cups with the Nomads Women, putting together a nice accolade of lifting a trophy in each of his five seasons in charge of the team.

The 34-year-old’s work to help set up our Girls PDC and help the club achieve a dual National Academi status will forever be appreciated.

We at Connah’s Quay Nomads understand Jordan’s decision and everyone at the club would like to place on record their sincere thanks to Jordan for his incredible dedication, commitment and passion throughout his time with us.

Jordan has kindly provided us with his following farewell message:

‘’Deciding to leave the football club has been an incredibly difficult decision. However, I now feel the time is right to focus on my family and pursue new challenges.

‘’This has never simply felt like a job to me, it has always felt like home. I grew up around the club, played on these pitches as a child, attended school here and then had the privilege of spending the last 10 seasons coaching and developing young players.

‘’After a tragic car accident 16 years ago, football gave me purpose again. Coaching helped shape me not only as a coach, but as a person and for that I will always be grateful.

‘’Over the years, I’ve poured everything into every session, every team and every player I’ve worked with, from the boys’ academy through to the women’s and girls’ programme. I always wanted players to leave training feeling challenged, inspired and smiling.

‘’I’ve been fortunate enough to coach across so many areas of the game: the Boys’ Academy, Scholarship U19s, Girls’ Academy and ultimately the Women’s First team. To have had the opportunity to positively impact so many young people through football is something I will always be proud of.

‘’The growth of the girls’ and women’s section has undoubtedly been the most rewarding part of my journey. To go from having only two players during lockdown to now seeing a complete pathway for girls, from U8s all the way through to senior football, is something incredibly special. More importantly, young girls now know there is a place for them in the game and that means far more than trophies ever could.

‘’To every player who trusted me, who walked onto the pitch wanting to improve, thank you. To every parent that also trusted me and supported me, thank you. You are the reason this journey has meant so much to me.

‘’The women’s team will always hold a special place in my heart. Winning back-to-back league titles and cup competitions together created memories I’ll never forget, but what made that group special was the character, resilience and togetherness they showed every single day. I genuinely believe the foundations are there for the players to continue achieving even more in the future.

‘’I’m also incredibly thankful to all the staff and coaches I’ve worked alongside over the years. Football is never a one person journey and I’ve been lucky to share mine with so many good people who care deeply about developing players and supporting one another.

‘’Having spent so much of my life here, I’ve formed friendships and relationships that will stay with me long after football.

‘’Although it’s sad to leave, I know the time is right for me and my family.

‘’From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who has been a part of the journey. JP’’

Nomads Technical Director Jay Catton added:

“Jordan’s contribution to Connah’s Quay Nomads over the past decade has been nothing short of exceptional. His dedication, loyalty and passion for developing both players and people across every area of the football club have helped shape the identity and growth of our academy and female section.

“From the very beginning, Jordan fully embraced the culture and values of the club. He genuinely cared about creating opportunities for young players within our community and his influence has left a lasting impact on so many boys and girls who have come through our pathway over the years.

“Across the boys academy, Jordan played a huge role in developing players and supporting opportunities for individuals to progress into the professional game, with numerous players he coached moving on to professional and Premier League academies. His commitment to player development and the standards he set on a daily basis helped strengthen the reputation of the club as a genuine pathway for young footballers.

“Through his role as Head of the Mini Phase Boys Programme, alongside his work within the full-time scholarship programme, Jordan invested countless hours into helping young players improve not only as footballers, but as people. So many families will be grateful for the time, care and support he gave to their children throughout his journey with the club.

“Away from the pitch, Jordan worked tirelessly within the local community, building strong relationships with schools, partner organisations and families. His passion for connecting the football club with the local area helped create opportunities for so many young people through primary schools, community camps and development projects.

“Jordan’s contribution to the growth of the girls programme has also been outstanding. From helping establish and develop the girls section to supporting the continued growth of the PDC and Girls Academi structure, he played a huge role in creating a thriving environment for female football within the club.

“What he achieved with the women’s section in such a short period of time deserves enormous credit. To help build the programme from its early stages into a successful and respected setup, while delivering back-to-back league titles and multiple cup successes, reflects the professionalism, care and drive he brought every single day as Women’s Manager.

“However, beyond the trophies and achievements, Jordan should be most proud of the environment and culture he helped create. He built strong relationships with players, staff and families alike, and the positive impact he has had on people throughout his time at the club will not be forgotten.

“Over the last decade, Jordan has grown tremendously as both a coach and a person, which also saw him complete his UEFA A Licence, and it has been a privilege for everybody at the club to witness that journey firsthand.

“On a personal level, Jordan has been a huge part of the football club for many years and someone who has given absolutely everything in every role he has undertaken. His commitment, energy and care for the club has never gone unnoticed and he leaves with the respect and appreciation of everybody connected to Connah’s Quay Nomads.

“While we are naturally disappointed to see Jordan leave, we fully respect his decision to prioritise his family and begin an exciting new chapter.

“Jordan will always remain a valued part of the Nomads family, and his contribution to this football club will leave a lasting legacy.”

On behalf of everyone at Connah’s Quay Nomads, we thank JP for his outstanding service, commitment and loyalty over so many years, and wish him, Sadie, Alexander and all of the family every success and happiness for the future.”
