Waterhouse Signs First Professional Contract With Nomads

Connah’s Quay Nomads are pleased to confirm 18-year-old Jack Waterhouse has signed his first professional contract with the club.

Waterhouse has been at the Nomads since U9 level and has developed significantly in each year he has played at the club.

The teenager was a key part of our talented Steven Gerrard Academy U19 scholars side which lifted the FAW National Academi Development North title last season, while he also featured four times for our First Team in domestic competition.

With technical ability, an eye for the ball, bravery and commitment as some of his standout traits, the youngster bagged four goals and nine assists for our U18 and U19 scholars in 2025/26.

On signing his first professional contract, Waterhouse said: “I’m obviously delighted to sign my first professional contract with the club I’ve been at since I was 10 years old.

“I’m really grateful to Dis and the rest of the first-team staff for placing their trust in me and giving me the opportunity to continue my development here. I’d also like to thank all of the coaches who have helped me throughout my time in the academy and played a part in helping me reach this point.

I see this contract as motivation to keep working hard, continue learning from the players and staff, and hopefully break into the first team on a more regular basis.”

First Team Manager John Disney also expressed his joy on this amazing news for Waterhouse and how excited he will be to work with him a lot more during the 2026/27 campaign:

“I am delighted that Jack is the first of our scholars to sign professional terms,” said Disney. “From the first moment I saw Jack I knew what a great footballer he is. He then showed the fact that he has a real desire and passion to make sure he is the best player in training and in games and his technical ability always shines through.

“It was a pleasure to give Jack his senior debut and also for him to play a part in a number of the First Team games this past season.

“Jack is a credit to the whole football club and academy coaches who have helped him through the system and is a player that I have loved working with whilst I was the U18s manager, and now as the First Team manager. Jack has a great future ahead of him and I am glad that he’s the first out of our very exciting scholarship group to sign professional terms with ourselves.”
