New Signing: Mikey Stone

Connah’s Quay Nomads are delighted to announce the signing of 22-year-old attacking midfielder, Mikey Stone.

Mikey began his career at the Stoke City Academy before being picked up by EFL League One team Huddersfield Town where he progressed through their academy to the U21 team. Stone made a loan move to Liversedge to gain first team playing experience before going on to play for Scottish eague One side Hamilton Academical before spells at north west side, Altrincham and Macclesfield.

Mikey has recently featured in the United States, playing for Oakland County in the TST 7vs7 tournament that also featured Wrexham.

On acquiring the signing of the sought-after midfielder, John Disney commented; “We are delighted to announce the signing of Mikey Stone - a player that i feel is going to bring a real excitement to our team for the upcoming season and European campaign.

Mikey has had a terrific football background and his natural ability is undoubted but I have been immensely impressed by his desire, work rate and commitment to continually get better every day and after meeting Mikey I knew from that moment I wanted to work with someone like him and I am sure the fans will love seeing him play.

He brings another level of attacking prowess that will help free up our other forward players and will be someone defenders will need to be highly aware of - with a difficult season due to no fault of his own last year i know Mikey is coming with the bit between his teeth for a new challenge and to help us continue to be successful.”
