First Team Squad Update

Following the conclusion of our European campaign and pre-season, Connah’s Quay Nomads can now provide a thorough update to our First Team playing squad.

Arrivals
The summer has seen a number of new faces arrive at the club with nine new signings making for a busy transfer window.  Those new signings include goalkeeper Chris Renshaw, defenders Shane Flynn, Alex Hughes, Joseph Simatupang-Ferguson and Rhys Watson, the midfield trio of Mikey Stone, Frankie Deane and Iwan Murray as well as strikers Hussein Muhasseb and Darren Stephenson.

Academy Progression
Coming through from our Academy are the young trio of Joe Bennett, James Hughes, Harvey Morris, Jack Waterhouse and Dani Liepa - all of whom have been key parts of our successful U19 team over the past two seasons, with Liepa, Partridge and Waterhouse all being unused substitutes in the away leg of our UEFA Conference League fixture against FC Ballkani. Both Joe Bennett and James Hughes will head out on loan at both Gresford Athletic and Airbus UK respectively until January.

Club Captain
29-year-old central defender James Jones has been appointed as Club Captain having joined the club part way through the 2025/26 season. Jones spent time at The New Saints, Altrincham, Barrow and Chester before joining The Nomads and holds a wealth of experience.

Departures
A number of familiar faces left the club over the summer and this past week Jason Oswell also announced his retirement from playing - we can also now confirm that the duo of Zeli Ismael and Marco Fregapane have both mutually terminated their contracts to pursue opportunities elsewhere - the club would like to thank both Marco and Zeli for their time and effort at the club over the past season since their arrival last summer and wish them well in the future.
