Connah's Quay Nomads are pleased to announce that the young trio of Thomas Bibby, Harry Owen and Josh Williams have been handed new contracts.
The pair of Owen and Williams, who have both made their first team debuts this campaign, have put pen to paper on new deals until May 2023.
Harry Owen
Owen joined The Nomads in 2019 as an U16 and signed a first team contract in January 2021 before going to make his first team debut on his 18th birthday as a second half substitute in The Nomads' Champions' League clash with Armenian side, Alashkert. Owen also captained The Nomads U19 team to the JD Cymru Premier Development North League in 2020 at just 16.
Craig Harrison praised Harry for his attitude; "Harry has trained with the first team for the last 12 months or so and has made very good progress - his attitude and dedication to everything he does is fantastic and he has a real hunger to be the best he can be. Harry has also done very well whenever he has played in the first team with making his debut as a substitute in the Champions' League and his full debut in Nathaniel MG Cup.
Harry has some great players and people to learn from in the likes of George Horan and Danny Holmes and takes all advice on board and always wants to learn. I look forward to working with Harry and he has thoroughly deserved a new contract."
Josh Williams
17 year old Williams has been at The Nomads since the U11 age group and has progressed into the first team squad since then. Williams made an impressive debut against Holywell Town in the Nathaniel MG Cup earlier this season. Josh also recently featured in the Wales Colleges match against England Independent Schools and one of six Nomads Academy players to feature.
Commenting on Josh's new contract, Craig Harrison said; "Josh is a very talented young player and has been with the first team for 4/5 months and excites me with his natural ability. Being a very young lad he still has a long way to go but there is definitely some very good potential and it's up to Josh to consistently show the same sort of attitude, determination and professionalism as Harry Owen has shown since training with first team and he has a real chance.
Similarly to Harry, Josh has fantastic role models at the club with the likes of Aeron Edwards, Callum Morris and Jay Owen to learn from, so if he follows them then he won't be to far away."
Thomas Bibby
Bibby has extended his contract until the end of the 2021/22 season having rejoined the club in July 2021 following four years in Texas playing for the UIW Cardinals. Bibby will be joining Holywell Town in the Cymru North on loan for the remainder of the season.
Craig Harrison added; "Tom has shown a great attitude, professionalism, and work very hard and a reward for his hard work he will have his contract extended until end of the season and go and get some game time at Holywell."
