Byrne heads to Altrincham

Connah's Quay Nomads can today confirm that goalkeeper Oliver Byrne has agreed to join Altrincham Town.

Byrne will join the National League outfit on July 1st for an undisclosed fee following two and a half successful years at Deeside Stadium as the Manchester-based team recently announced their transition to full time football for the first time in their history.

Byrne originally joined The Nomads in January 2020 having spent much of his youth at Blackburn Rovers, Cardiff City and Manchester United.

Ollie would make his debut for the club in a 3-1 victory over Cefn Druids in November 2020 and went on to make a further 63 starts for the club in all competitions, winning two JD Cymru Premier titles and two Nathaniel MG Cup titles.

Byrne was recently named joint Player's Player of the season having kept 24 clean sheets in 41 games in the 2021/22 season.

Everyone at the club thanks Ollie for his time and wishes him the best for the future.
