Connah's Quay Nomads are pleased to confirm the deadline day signings of Mike Hayes and Anderson Pinto.
Hayes rejoins The Nomads for his third spell on Deeside having originally joined the club in 2009. Nicknamed 'Magic' Mike Hayes during his spells at the club, Hayes had a great goalscoring record with the club, finding the net 48 times in his 69 starts and 25 substitute appearances, which included 29 Cymru Premier goals.
Hayes has since played for both Bala Town and Caernarfon Town in the JD Cymru Premier and returns to Deeside Stadium where he will wear the number 14 shirt.
On Hayes' return, Neil Gibson commented; "We are really pleased to get the signing of Mike Hayes Completed. Having played for the club previously he knows the surroundings well and it should allow for a smooth transition into the club.
Mike is a player who I've admired for a number of years managing against him within the league and he has a set of qualities that I look for in players to play for my teams.
He's a very good character which is vital in creating a good culture in the dressing room, his pace always causes problems and he's a proven goalscorer at this level, with a strong work ethic.
The staff and I are really looking forward to working with him."
Our second confirmed new signing is attacking midfielder Anderson Pinto who impressed during a number of trial games during pre season.
The 28 year-old featured in our pre-season games against both Wingate & Finchley and Runcorn Linnets where he made an impact on the right wing.
Portuguese born Pinto actually started off his career in England at the aforementioned Wingate before spells with a number of London based clubs inclding Royston Town, Walton & Hersham, Braintree and most recently Billercay Town.
Pinto has received international clearance and will wear the number 18 shirt, meaning he is available for Saturday's fixture against Penybont.
On Pinto's arrival, Neil Gibson added; "We are pleased to conclude the signing of Anderson who joins us with a good pedigree of playing in the English system.
He's an exciting talent who will be unknown to the league - his attitude in training has impressed me, he has qualities that we are looking for and he comes highly recommended by Dave Norman.
This latest signing brings much needed competition for places and gets us closer to where we wanted to be with strength & depth in the squad - especially with the current injuries to senior players.".
