Connah's Quay Nomads are delighted to confirm the signing of 34-year-old defender Chris Marriott.
Marriott departed The New Saints following the JD Welsh Cup Final in April as the JD Cymru Premier's most decorated player having won 26 pieces of silverware across his 15 years at the Oswestry-based club.
During his time at Park Hall, Marriott has made over 500 appearances scoring 24 goals in the process and was the club captain from 2019 until his recent departure.
On his arrival at The Nomads, Marriott commented; "I'm really excited to have a fresh challenge at Connah's Quay and I can't wait for our first game. I felt as though the club would be the right fit for me in the next part of my career and I've spoken to Neil Gibson in detail about how he sees me fitting into the team and I'm eager to see how things go.
The goal for me very much stays the same and that is to be winning silverware whilst I'm also looking forward to representing Nomads in Europe - hopefully the draw is kind and we can get a positive result."
First Team Manager Neil Gibson added; "I'm extremely pleased to have been able to bring Mazza into the football club.
First of all he's exactly the type of character that we want within our group and has fitted in really well already.
He's a leader who sets the very highest of standards, who's very strong on the ethics that this group holds itself to.
On the pitch his level of ability is there for all to see, he brings a lovely balance to the group with such a cultured left foot, something we have missed in my time at the club so far, naturally left footed with great passing and crossing abilities.
He's the most decorated footballer in the Welsh domestic leagues so to bring Mazza into the club was a big coup with the other offers he had available. I'm really looking forward to working with him over the season."
Welcome to The Nomads Chris!
