Recruiting: Commercial Manager

Job Title: Commercial Manager
Job Type: Full-Time


Responsibilities
Revenue Generation
• Develop and implement comprehensive commercial strategies to increase revenue streams at the club
• Identify and secure new sponsorship and partnership opportunities
• Manage and optimise existing sponsorship agreements and commercial contracts
• Create and oversee ticketing and merchandising strategies to maximise sales and engagement

Marketing and Branding
• Develop marketing campaigns to enhance the club’s brand visibility and engagement
• Oversee digital marketing efforts, including social media, website content, and email marketing
• Collaborate with the media team to promote the club's activities, matches, and events

Matchday Operations
• Coordinate all commercial activities on matchdays, including hospitality, ticketing, and retail
• Enhance the matchday experience for fans and corporate partners to drive attendance and engagement

Community Engagement
• Develop community outreach programmes to build and strengthen relationships with local businesses and fans
• Represent the club at community events and networking opportunities

Financial Management
• Prepare and manage the commercial budget, ensuring alignment with overall club objectives
• Monitor financial performance and report on commercial activities to the club’s management

Stakeholder Management
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including sponsors, partners, and media outlets
• Continue to find ways to active partnerships, driving value for the client and the club
• Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms for the club

Strategic Planning
• Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and industry trends
• Develop long-term commercial plans in line with the club’s and FAW strategic goals

Qualifications
• Proven experience in a commercial management role, preferably within the sports or entertainment industry
• Strong understanding of the football industry and commercial landscape
• Excellent negotiation and contract management skills
• Experience in developing and executing successful marketing and sponsorship strategies
• Strong financial acumen and experience in budget management
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

Skills
• Leadership and management skills to lead commercial initiatives and collaborate with various departments
• Strategic thinking and ability to develop innovative commercial strategies
• Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms
• Strong analytical skills to assess market trends and financial performance
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Additional Information
• This is a newly created position, and the successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the club’s commercial activities
• The role requires flexibility, including attending evening and weekend events as necessary
• A passion for football and a deep understanding of the club’s values and culture are essential
