Hughes signs new contract

Connah's Quay Nomads can today confirm that Rhys Hughes has signed a new contract with the club.

Hughes originally joined the club in August 2024 ahead of the current season having previously played at Everton and Tranmere Rovers whilst also featuring for the Wales U21 international team.

Rhys has started his time at The Nomads with a bang, having scored 11 goals in 23 games in all competitions so far from midfield, making him the joint highest goalscorer the JD Cymru Premier at present with 10 league goals.

Hughes' new deal sees him sign up until at least the end of the 2025/26 campaign.

On extending his contract, Rhys commented; "I've really enjoyed this season working with the players and staff we have here and it's the most I've enjoyed my football for a long time.

I'm delighted to stay for another year and hopefully achieve our goals as a team for this season and next!".
