Connah’s Quay Nomads Academy are delighted to announce that our boys and girls academy programmes have maintained their FAW Academi licenses for the 2026/27 season.
The club has been operating an accredited FAW boys programme for nearly two decades now and following recent audits from FAW, we are proud to announce we have achieved another year of Academy FAW status for our boys programme.
Alongside this news, the club are delighted to announce, that following further rigorous auditing processes we have also achieved a Girls Academi license for the 26/27 season.
Connah’s Quay Nomads have been selected as one of the few clubs in the country to achieve the Academi license for both boys and girls.
The achievement of continuing to run a girls Academi programme will see the club continue to operate our U8s to U11s girls sides whilst our U13 and U15 sides will be operating in the FAW Academi Girls League alongside our U16 and U19 sides competing in the U17 NEWFA and Women's League respectively.
The girls Academi programme continues to be aligned with the boys following the same training curriculum, sports science and analysis and robust games programs against fellow Welsh academies and professional opposition.
There are a total of 150 business and sporting criteria elements to obtain a the FAW Academi license with key components including off field requirements, sports science and analysis elements, full training and games curriculum.

Communications Director Nik Mesney commented; "This is an achievement that cannot be overlooked from a club licensing and infrastructure point of view as the effort put in off the field to ensure that the next generation of Nomads players continue to operate at the highest levels has been phenomenal from so many of our off-field staff such as Club Secretary Nathan Beal as well as our ever-expanding group of Academy coaches.
The opportunities we offer at our Academy are fantastic with not only the regular fixtures against fellow Welsh teams, but also fixtures against the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and other leading north west based Premier League and EFL sides, not to forget our recent overseas trip to face Como in Italy."
A huge congratulations to everyone involved in the successful application process.
